Frequently Asked Questions

1. What areas do you service?

We service the Monterey Peninsula including Carmel, Carmel Valley, Carmel Highlands, Pacific Grove, Monterey, Seaside, Maria, Salinas, Highway 68, Castroville and Prunedale.

2. How do I schedule service in Carmel-by-the-Sea since we do not have addresses?

Residents of Carmel By The Sea 93921 Zip Code: Click on Schedule Pick Up and please enter your service zip code 93921 and select ‘Carmel by the Sea.’ After completing the account verification, you’ll be able to add your address details in the pickup instructions

3. How much does pick-up and delivery cost?

Our rate is $2.15 per pound, with a minimum charge of $40.00.  There are no extra fees for pick-up and delivery.  You only pay for the weight of the items we process.

4. What if I have large bedding items? Are they charged by the pound?

Large items such as comforters and pillows are charged by the piece.  Click here for our pricing page.

5. What is the standard service?

All items are separated by color and washed and dried according to the care label.  Items will be removed from the dryer immediately to avoid wrinkles, and then folded and bagged.  All supplies are included in the price.

6. Do you treat stains?

If we see a stain, we will treat it to the best of our ability.  If you know of a specific stain you want addressed, please notate it when you place your order.

7. What laundry products do you use?

We use Tide liquid detergent and Bounce unscented dryer sheets.  Tide Free & Clear and bleach can be used upon request for no additional charge.

8. Do you hang or fold my clothing?

If you do not specify, we typically hang formal items such as collared shirts, dresses, blouses, and slacks, protecting them in a clear plastic garment bag.  We fold and package everything else for your convenience.

9. Do you hang dry any of the items? Does it cost extra?

Please place hang-dry items in a separate bag and notate when you place your order.  We do not currently charge extra for this service.

10. Do you mix my clothing with clothing from other customers?

Absolutely not.  Your items will be washed separately from other customers.

11. Do I have to be at home when you pick up or drop off my clothing?

No.  Just let us know where you will be leaving the clothes, such as on the front porch, behind the gate on the right side of your house, etc.  You can notate this when you schedule service.

12. Do you separate whites from colors?

We separate whites, lights, and darks into different machines.  We also separate delicate items and place them in a special laundry bag to further protect them.

13. How do I find out how much my order will cost?

We charge $2.15 per pound.  You can use a home scale to guestimate your price.  As a rule of thumb, a load of laundry weights 12-18 pounds.

15. What days do you offer the laundry services?

We offer residential pick-up and delivery services 7 days per week between the hours of 8am and 6pm.  You can choose a window that is best for you when you schedule your service.  We create customized schedules based on the needs of our commercial customers.

16. Can I make special requests for how I want my laundry done?

Absolutely!   During the account setup process you will be able to add your personal preferences that will be followed for every order. In addition, when you place an order, you will be able to create specific instructions for that individual order.

17. Can I change my order preferences?

You can log in to your account and update your preferences any time you want.

18. What is the turnaround time?

Your items will be delivered to you the day after we pick them up.  You can select a delivery window that works best for you when scheduling your service.

19. Is there a contract or long-term commitment?

You can cancel or suspend your account at any time, with no obligations. If you have signed up for recurring service, please inform us if you are going on vacation or wish to suspend your account. We aim to avoid unnecessary trips and save our driver’s time and gas.

20. How do I cancel my scheduled pick up or delivery?

To cancel your service, please do so in your account by 7:00 a.m. on the day of pickup. Alternatively, you can email us at Service@delmontelaundry.com  by 7:00 a.m.  If you wish to cancel your weekly service, you can place your account on hold, and we will not resume laundry pickup and delivery until we hear from you.

21. What do I put my laundry in?

You can use a laundry bag or even a large trash bag for your items.  All new customers will receive a complimentary nylon laundry bag for future orders, and we will wash the bag along with your clothes. Afterward, we will place your clothes in plastic bags and then back in the nylon bag for added protection during your wash and fold service.

22. Do you offer contactless pick-up and delivery?

Absolutely, we understand the importance of safety for both you and our drivers.  Just let us know where to pick up and deliver your laundry, and we will handle the rest.  We will send you a text notification once your laundry has been delivered so you can retrieve it promptly.

23. Can you pick-up and deliver at my workplace?

Yes.  We can provide service at any address in our service region.

24. Can I schedule pick-up and delivery for my business such as a hotel, restaurant, or any of the many commercial segments Del Monte Laundry serves?

25. Do you polish and repair shoes?

We offer cleaning and polishing for men and women’s dress shoes and heels.  We also offer shoelace replacement and high-heel tip replacement.  Shoes are wrapped in tissue paper and placed in plastic bags and returned along with your clean clothing.

26. Do you offer dry cleaning?

Not currently.  However, it is our goal to add dry cleaning service in the future.

27. Can I drop my laundry off at your facility?

Not at this time.  We only offer our services through pick-up and delivery.
